Over the past 10 years Peninsula Primary Care have been involved
in the development of educational packages and training days
for mental health staff and stress management programs for
staff working within a variety of commercial and local authority
organizations. Recently, PPC have been in collaboration with
Truro College to design a post qualification program for mental
health workers in Primary Care and the course is likely to
appeal to NHS and Independent organizations throughout the
country that are looking for continuous professional development
for their staff.
Outside of the generic health service PPC are able to provide
staff training programs for a number of commercial businesses
that are increasingly aware of the impact of stress and burnout
on their employees and output. This is a successful and very
efficient way of getting organizations to encourage their
staff to manage stress better in and around the workplace.
The staff training programs and seminars can give companies
the real opportunity to invest in their workforce.
From an educational perspective Peninsula Primary Care can

Courses can be tailored to fit
in with individual and group requirements with the primary aim
being that each attendee will have a better understanding of
how anxiety and depression develop and how we can learn to manage
these difficulties more constructively. For the health care
professional there will be an increased understanding of how
to measure and quantify anxiety and depression and how to intervene
using empirical methods of enquiry.
