It is now over a century since Psychologists began providing the courts with psychological evidence. During this period the scope of Clinical and Forensic Psychology has grown immensely and the psychological methods of assessment are becoming increasingly beneficial to court proceedings. Just some of the uses of psychology in relation to the law are outlined below.
